Too many Christians today walk around buffeted by uncontrollable impulses, drowning in guilt and totally defeated. They pray, commit, surrender, read the Word, say all the right words, and still can't seem to live a victorious life. If that sounds familiar, then you might find some answers here.

Who Should Not Be Delivered

Mat 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

Mat 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.

Mat 12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Jesus told this story to his disciples as a caution against casting demons out of people who were unable to fill their house. This isn't a physical house, but when demons reside within the body or mind of a person, they consider that their house.

During deliverance I've actually heard a demon (speaking through the person) say, "this is my house!"

If there is a necessity to "fill" the house, then the Lord's precaution seems to indicate that only someone with the willingness and understanding of what to "fill" the house with should be delivered.

Obviously a person who is unsaved and unrepentent should never be delivered, unless it is at the direction of the Holy Spirit. And even then the person should be urged to surrender to the Lord in salvation. If a person is unsaved, they would have no defense against the demon(s) returning!

If the person is saved, then they (hopefully) will do the work necessary to fill up the "house" with the Word. Notice I said that they will do the work. I've seen someone delivered in a very dramatic fashion, who after awhile slacked off the "filling" portion of the work (staying the Word on a daily basis).

Sometime later it became obvious that some of the "problems" had returned and the situation was actually worse. When questioned they admitted to not reading the Word, to allowing unforgiveness to creep back in, and to allowing anger free reign.

The second deliverance was more difficult just because there were more to deal with. It was a good lesson, however, because that person has remained diligent about keeping the house filled.

So then who are we to cast demons out of? The CHRISTIANS!!!!!!!
