Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
It is HIS might, not ours. I see so many Christians struggling to live victoriously. They continually ask for prayer to help them be strong as they are going thru some spiritual battle. However, the Word says we are to be strong in His power.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
"Stand against" is active, it certainly doesn't mean run away from, or hide in the bushes and hope the devil won't notice you.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
"Wrestle" signifies work, breaking a sweat...not a stroll in the park!
Folks, this is a battle we are in! The Enemy is without mercy and definitely does not "play fair". Indeed the phrase "give him an inch and he'll take a mile" definitely describes his strategy.
There have been times when someone will seem to be looking for an argument and that nothing I can say makes any impression. In fact, usually what's being said is just 'off the wall'. Suddenly I'll realize that I'm not fighting flesh and blood, but that those principalities and powers are using the person in front of me.
In a couple of instances, I actually be able to say under my breath, "In the Name of Jesus be quiet!" and enjoyed the look of utter surprise and even fear that suddenly appeared on the other person's face, as the words spouting of of their mouth suddenly ceased as if a faucet had been turned off.
We need to be strong in the Lord's power, stand against the Enemy and realize that the enemy isn't flesh and blood but spiritual.
